Fresno can be a city without orphans
This article appears in the January 2012 issue of Salt Fresno Magazine.
As a former social worker, I have first-hand experience with the needs of foster children throughout our county. As a woman of faith and a pastor's wife, I believe God has called and equipped His people to care for these children. Even a quick reading of the Bible shows God's heart for orphans. Paul tells us in Romans 8 that we were once spiritual orphans and God adopted us. James 1:27 tells us that the kind of faith God accepts as pure and faultless is "to look after orphans and widows in their distress ... "
